Our Fine Leather
At Ingram Fine Leather Co., our passion is to create sleek, yet enduring pieces that serve you in everyday life without compromising on eye-catching aesthetics. Transparency in the creation is paramount and we want you to be certain of exactly what is being offered.
We work with full grain vegetable tanned leathers sourced primarily from historic Italian and U.S. tanneries, which have each been tailored for every item we design. Vegetable tanning is a natural process of finishing the hides using organic materials (such as tree barks and sumac) over a longer period of time that results in a deep, rich-colored leather which over time develops a beautiful patina that tells a story of its own.
Full grain is very important when selecting leather goods to last a lifetime. Products you often see are presented as "genuine leather" which is not what most would think it means. The majority are leather scraps bonded with a plastic or polyurethane coating to resemble a top grain and marketed as a sustainable alternative, but that is open to discussion. All of the leather you find is a byproduct of the food industry. We believe the most viable and meaningful way to honor the animal is to utilize everything possible and prevent waste or synthetic materials going to landfills.
While the leather is our foundation, hardware is equally essential to providing longevity to the product. We implement solid brass hardware that has been naturally finished or plated, influenced by the style of each piece. It has been used for centuries as a durable and dependable material that can look even better with time if properly cared for. Brass also better retains its veneer and shape compared to materials like zinc or nickel, providing you with more reliability.
Craftsmanship
But material isn't the only element, and goods are only as worthy as the artistry put into them. That's why our team strives to strike a balance between every aspect. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted using time tested traditional methods, blended with modern precision. Every item is saddle-stitched by hand, edges burnished to a shine, and coated with paraffin waxes that will stand the test of time and preserve the heirloom quality that we aspire to.
Our Promise
Confidence in the longevity of our product is essential. This is why every item is backed by a limited lifetime warranty to ensure you feel as safe as we do in your purchase. We vouch for our work and assure to do everything possible to resolve any issues and leave every customer satisfied. Please refer to the policy page for more information on warranty.
